So, Soap worked fine with the first few launches in 3.7.8 - until I installed the version 4 beta.
Then I started getting error messages about how the license can’t be found.
I uninstalled the ver4 beta, and still receive the error.
I uninstalled and reinstalled ver 3.7.8 and reset preferences, and still receive the error.
museHub support told me it was an Audacity error, so I’m wondering if anyone else has run into this issue with Soap or other museHub products?

As far as I understand it (I am not involved in the Audacity development at all), Audacity 4 is a complete re-write. Therefore it may change (or even destroy) any settings you have made before. If you are doing some “serious work”, you should not install / use an experimental (beta) version of a software.
Audacity 3.x saves all its settings in a separate folder in
~/Library/Application Support/audacity (macOS)
%appdata%/Roaming/audacity (Windows)
Remove this folder and re-do the changes to Audacity’s settings, plug-ins, etc.
I received a notification that my Avast antivirus needed to reboot my PC for an upgrade. As soon as I did that, the plugin worked just fine, no issues. I’m guessing that the Firewall portion of Avast was feeling wonky before the upgrade.
Antivirus software scans for digital signatures by getting between your program and the hard drive. For desktop office software this is fine. For realtime data capture like recording audio it is problematic. Disable antivirus software when moving a lot of data.
