Hello everyone. I recorded a 4.5 hour podcast and was able to open and edit it yesterday. Now I cannot. I have read all the forums about the temporary file location and mine is set to a place with 73gb of storage while my file is only 12gb (I have 4x times more open storage). I also have searched through my computer and cannot find the _data folder but I think my Audacity is running on the later version that doesn’t use that anymore. I have the aup.3 file but no matter what I do, I cannot open it. I have tried everything.
Only 12GB, eh? What’s your idea of a BIG file then…lol?
If you are using version 3.x.x, you are right about data folders not being used.
How tech savvy are you? There are some Audacity utilities to repair projects but they don’t work on a Mac. If you have a pal with a Windows PC, you could put your project on a USB stick and try running the utilities on their machine. Would that be a possibility?

Once again Audacity project tools came to the rescue to repair the corrupted project file. User confirmed that he has a good working copy of his podcast recording.
