Audacity automatically alters Audacity created files and imports album covers and album titles to the file

Audacity automatically alters my Audacity created files and imports album covers and album titles when I have not taken any action for this to happen. My music files are self created using Audacity and the music material is NOT imported from the internet. How do I get Audacity to stop adding the pictures and information to my files?

Unless something has changed recently, Audacity doesn’t support embedded artwork at all!

I can’t duplicate that. I removed all of the data from an MP3 with MP3Tag, opened it in Audacity and exported with a different file name and the new file also has no metadata. I checked in MP3Tag, Windows Explorer, Windows Media Player, and Winamp… Nothing but the file name shows up.

Can you tell us step-by-step what you’re doing?

And what’s showing the metadata? Windows Explorer? Windows Media Player? Etc.?

This might be simulated by the media player you are using. VLC, for example, assigns an image to audio files that don’t have any, with no discernible pattern that I know of.

Download and install MediaInfo and see what it says about your audio files.
