Audacity 3.7.4 - Unable to disable Loop System ...?

Hail all:

Before anything, previous to today, I have not used Audacity, thus, i am 100% unknown with Audacity.

That said:
So, this DARN Loop System … I can’t find a way to turn it off, entirely so, that is.
It is continuously in the way, and it is driving me MAD!

Went to Google, there I read to simply click L … but the stupid thing won’t go away.
Went to YouTube, there it was said to get into Transport, there is an ON/OFF switch, but that then is totally not so.
No On/Off switch there.

Each time i select a part from a song, to then put it back in the song, creating a secondary, pasted in part within the song, this !#$%!$#%!@ Loop thingy pops there and just screws all what I try to do up.
And thus, my question, how can I, in reality thus, totally disable this loop thing?

Thank you aforehand:
Xog.

Rather than just L, I think you need to do Control L. That’s what works for me.

Mark B

OH, why, thank you, good sir!!!
Going to try immediately.

Sorry mate, I told you wrong. It’s Control L on Ocenaudio which I use as well as Audacity. However, you could try the Clear Loop combo which is Shift+Alt+L.
My mistake.
Mark B

I know how to clear it, good sir.
I do NOT know how to get rid of the darn thing, how to totally disable it. :frowning:

Been looking further on other search engines:
Bing.
Ya.Ru.
DuckDuck.
Start.Com.
Nowhere any information on how to completely disable it … .

Darn annoying … .

Thank you, either way, good sir, for the effort of relpying.

Can anyone else help me in this, please?

Are you making your audio selection by selecting in the waveform, or by dragging in the time line?

I make a selection, copy it, then I want to bring it in a certain point in the music file through pasting it.
However, when I point to the place where I want the sound part inserted, the darn Looping system pops it’s ugly head up, and I cannot insert said part … .

Does this (my explanation) make sense to you, good sir?

Enable “editing a clip can move other clips”.
https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tracks_behaviors_preferences.html
(which has nothing to do with “loop system”)

Thank you, good sir, will try this immediately.

Edit 1:
Question, does this also work within the same song, as an extension to said song, sir?
Which is what I try to do … ?

Edit 2:
And so it does.

Sir, this was THE solution I was seeking for.
And by this, I want to extend you my deepest and most sincere gratitude.

Thank you:
Xog.

Edit 3:
Marked you for answer, and gave a well-earned heart.
