After installing v3.7.3 on my Kubuntu 25.04 desktop, I recorded five short, 1-minute audio files for an upcoming event. Editing was smooth, effects went well, the aup3 files saved nicely. The problem is that Audacity crashes as soon as I try to export the files to a usable format! Doesn’t matter if it’s mp3, MWA, WAV… Audacity creates the destination file and crashes without rendering any audio. The only thing I see at the bottom of Audacity is “stopped”.
I can’t imagine that I’m doing anything wrong… but I’m open to learning how to resolve this because my deadline is approaching very quickly. Thanks in advance!
UPDATE: I hate it when problems fix themselves! I thought to install Audacity on my Linux laptop and export the files. It worked! One of them, however, was a duplicate: turns out the ol’ Chief recorded over one and saved the next without saving that one! I had to go back to the desktop and re-record it… and guess what? Everything exported just fine! Sometimes, I have to mark the solution as PFM (short for the Navy advanced electronics technical term, “Pure F-ing Magic”). This is one of them.
