Audacity 3.6.1 has a lot of errors, need back to 3.5

audacity 3.6.1 still crashes all the time and I need to return to the previous Audacity 3.5, it was very cool and stable. Is there a way to download the previous versions?

Yes, I found some serious problems in 3.6.

The 3.5 versions were nothing to write home about, either. The last hero was 3.4.2.

When you get the replacement installed, Tools > Reset Configuration.

No, I don’t know how to do that install. I’m a Mac Elf.

Thank you very much!

I have reinstalled v 3.5.1 but every time I try to run it (after the first time) it goes to 3.6.1 which has changes I do not want. Is there something else I need to remove to stop this without losing my settings

I remember reading Audacity has automatic update enabled by default. I don’t remember where the setting is, but if you can find it and disable you should be okay.

Hey. I’m fairly new to using Audacity, but the recent 3.6.1 update has given me trouble. Basically, no matter how much i tweak the settings, my audio comes out distorted like I’m speaking through a cheap microphone. Everything was working fine before, but now I can’t find a workaround to this. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for that. I just turned off the automatic checking for updates, so I’m hoping that will help.

Looks like it’s working. Thank you

I’m also having problems with the newest version - specifically, the vertical indicator line is jittering ever so slightly and it’s difficult to tell sometimes where exactly my “cut/paste” will be. Therefore, is there any way I can revert back to the previous version WITHOUT losing all of my effects settings? I still have the previous version “.exe” file stored on my computer, but I didn’t want to uninstall the 3.6.1 version and then discover that a reinstallment of the 3.5.1 version has erased all my previous settings. Thanks in advance for any response.
