Hey there, I have confirmed that the latest two versions have caused the audio that is generated from my macro to not work properly. I rolled back to 3.3.3 and it works again.
I have been using audacity to normalize audio that was generated inside Ableton Live. When I would use the macro to normalize the audio it would create what seemed like a normal WAV file. The file would play inside the finder on my Mac, but when I would try to bring it back into Ableton to create an instrument out of the audio I would get the error
"The audio file
“A3-(Freeze)-[2023-11-09 091205].wav” cannot be read.
[This file does not appear to be a valid WAV file.]"
After rolling back to version 3.3.3 everything is working correctly again when I try to re-import to Ableton Live.
created an account here to say thanks for posting this and to reply to jademan below cuz 3.4.2 is released and it is still happening and it’s really annoying. thank u.
Also -
i removed normalizing the audio from the macro i was using (the macro then just opened the file and was to convert it to .wav). for some reason at times a window pops up that shows that it is converting a file to AIFF. the file appears as a .wav in finder. Get Info says it is a wav file as well.
Attempting to import the file into ableton gives the same error AfternoonJones mentioned. …can you believe the audacity.
Thanks for waiting on 3.4.2. I am sorry it does not help your situation. I am a Windows guy and cannot offer any insight into your issue. May I suggest creating a new issue report here: Issues · audacity/audacity · GitHub
