Audacity 3.1.3 on ubuntu 24.04/snap unresponsive on subsequent file loads

Audacity 3.1.3 on ubuntu 24.04 installed by snap.
After a mp3 file is loaded, edited (usually just normalize and perhaps snip some of the file content via Ctrl-K) and then exported, and a second mp3 file is loaded, all Audacity menus become unresponsive. Only fix that works for me is to close Audacity and reopen it. Have removed Audacity from my system and re-installed it, no remedy. Have also deleted the config and that is no help either. Lastlog.txt does not show any error messages. How to fix? Thanks

Why not try version 3.7.1 using the AppImage: Download page or, since you are only doing basic editing on each one, try something different e.g: https://www.ocenaudio.com/download. I use both on Linux Mint.

Thank you evilmrb. I did do that some time ago and my problems went away. This is not the first time that ubuntu default apt install for audacity had warts. Live and learn. Chheers
