Hey there.
I use Audacity to record a podcast and while I’m having no issues recording regular talking, any time I clap/snap/laugh, nothing records. If I resume talking normal, it records just fine. Is there any fix to this? I had no issue with this on the older version (Audacity 2.3.0) that I used with my old laptop, but since getting a new laptop and updated Audacity, I can’t record snaps/claps/laughing.
Thanks!
Matt
Audacity has tools that work the opposite of that. Start Recording when the sound gets loud enough. There is Timer Record. “If it’s 4 o’clock start recording.”
Past that, Audacity doesn’t do anything to the recorded sound.
Audacity gets its sound from Windows, not the microphone. Windows can have all kinds of processing, tricks, and tools.
But much more serious than all that, I can’t think of a plain, ordinary problem that can cause sound drops.
Describe the microphone and the connection. Model numbers. Pretend I want to buy one. What happens to the blue waves during the “hole?” Do they snap to zero like this?
