I’m glad to hear that this workaround still works, though the explanation given in [Fedora23] audacity hang when startup - #10 by monnerat is incorrect.

Audacity does not depend on libgail-gnome. I use Audacity on Xubuntu - It starts fine for me and I don’t have libgail-gnome. I do have libgail18 which is available in the main Debian / Ubuntu repositories and appears to also be available for Fedora (though I don’t know much about Fedora).
Unfortunately the Fedora 32 build did not follow the build instructions for Audacity, so it’s difficult to guess where exactly the problem lies.
