System: Macbook Pro 2013 running OS X Yosemite 10.10.4
pretty sure i’ve the most recent OS X and Audacity. Audacity will not even open, even after changing security settings to open programs from the internet.
No idea.
Done all that to no avail. — ‘Known Issue: Security settings on OS X 10.7 or later may block Audacity being launched. Most users on OS X 10.9.5 and later will experience this, due to changes made by Apple.
To permanently enable Audacity launch, right-click or control-click on the Audacity application in Finder, choose “Open”, then in the dialog box that appears, choose “Open”.’
done done done, no dialog box appears to even select “open”, just cuts out after the first “open”
Please don’t double post, saying in both topics that you are getting the same issue as the other poster. It is clearest if you start your own new topic, saying exactly what your issues are, and giving your Audacity version (all three numbers) from Audacity > About Audacity… .
I deleted your other post in which the original problem was a crash importing MP3 files, because from your text there I did not think you were experiencing a crash importing MP3’s. If you are experiencing that, please describe exactly how we might reproduce the problem.
Assuming you are using Audacity 2.1.1 and Audacity does not appear when you launch it, please read Fix for Audacity 2.1.1 not launching carefully. If you don’t mind resetting all your preferences, the folder you want to delete is
~/Library/Application Support/audacity/
That is your user Library, not the system Library. It will be simplest just to use Go > Go to Folder in Finder and type:
~/Library/Application Support/
then you will be able to see the “audacity” folder and delete it.
