Auadacity has failed me

Internal

I have a large project that was going along fine. Saving fine. All of a sudden I can’t save the project or save it as… I get that error. I have tried saving on different hard drives including the computer itself. There is plenty of room on all. I have copied the original project (saved from before the problem) to another disk but when I pull it up the problem repeats.

the problem details read: (and boy I wish I could just copy & paste this)

I’m not a computer person, I’m a musician. Please assist.

On Windows you can do a print screen to capture all of these details. I don’t know if it can be done on Mac.

So the good news is that this error is NOT indicative of a damaged database project. There is likely something else going on. For some ideas, see: Error message...need help

THanks for your fast thoughts. I can printscreen on Mac, but did not see a way to attach it.

I have rebooted, have plenty of disk space.
The problem continues.

I am going to delete audacity and re-download the software.

Ctrl+V works on Windows…

Good. Make sure you reset the configuration as you do the reinstall…

I’m sorry, but what does that mean: “reset the configuration”?
I’ve been using audacity for a decade, and this is not something I’ve ever done.

You could use this menu command for this porpose:

The menu name is probably “Tools” in english.

As you do an install, select the following item:

There’s also an option to reset preferences after the installation:

“Tools menu > Reset Configuration”

(I would recommend restarting Audacity immediately after resetting in this way, to ensure that the reset is applied immediately)
