I have a Macbook Pro running maOS Sierra 10.12.6. I am utilizing Audacity 2.2.2. I’ve downloaded the ASX Check plug-in but am unable to figure out how to get it to load into Audacity. There does not appear to be an install program. When I double click on the application I get an error message that says it can’t read the file. I moved it to Applications from my Download folder.
I finally got it to work. Please disregard.
Please note ACX Check (not ASX Check) can be faked out.
It looks for a half-second of room tone (room noise without you) to measure for Background Noise. If it doesn’t find it, it measures as close as it can get. Background noise in that case may be wildly noisier than it really is. Since Home Recordists and audiobook readers routinely fail noise, this could be important.
