Asking for assistance from an expert

Hi guys!

I have a question. I am not a regular user of Audacity. I tried using the program to optimize the quality of a speech fragment I recorded for a self-help video I am making (for people seeking psychological help). I got completely lost in Audacity with all the options available. The sound of my fragment is too soft and I think could use some other improvements as well, because it’s not very easy to hear now. Is there anyone, well equipped with this application, that would be able to spare 5 minutes to take a look at my file and enhance it? It would be a great help!

Thank you for your replies,
Erez

In this forum you can add ~10 seconds of audio to a post … https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/how-to-post-an-audio-sample/29851/1
or there is a new audio-sharing site associated with Audacity … https://audio.com/

Thank you @Trebor!

I have made a sample. Here it is: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hTJkQ6LyT5DSl7qGhxjcnG9wrbC3sLuL/view?usp=share_link

I hope I’m following the right procedure to get your or anyone’s help with optimizing my recording!

Best regards

Native Audacity cannot reduce reverberation from the room,
nor reduce background noise which changes with time, (e.g. road traffic).

Adobe’s (currently free) online AI service “Podcast Enhance” can make those corrections … Enhance Speech from Adobe | Free AI filter for cleaning up spoken audio

If you don’t like the AI result, the main fixable issue in Audacity is excessive sibilance,
fixable with a de-esser plugin like desibilator.

Thanks a lot! I’m a complete newbie on audio, and to me the result sounds mainly just quite a bit louder. But that’s ok I think! We’ll see if that does the trick. I’ll also look in to the plugin you mentioned. Thanks again!
