Are there any methods to create virtual or nested tracks within Audacity? A number of video editors offer this ability?

Even within their (video editors) forums I’ve requested that an option be provided that an expand arrow on the virtual or nested clip, that when enabled it would expand there, instead of opening in the timeline. Of course, opening separately in the timeline has it’s benefits and should be an option.

In addition to virtual tracks, a nice addition would be to have the ability to hide sections of the timeline. Especially when dealing with very long audio.

Or, import projects as separate self-contained timelines.
