Are 'Fuzzy Headphones' a necessity for punch and roll and... what are they?

I’ve been reading through the forums and I keep coming across talk of listening back to your audio in real time with ‘fuzzy headphones’. Currently, I simply click my fingers if I make a mistake and read the whole paragraph again. Since I edit from the end to the front, I know that the last take it the one that is best, so I just brutally delete prior repetitions.
In your opinion, is Punch and Roll better than that? I wouldn’t say I make that many mistakes, though sometimes I become so thoroughly tongue-tied I make a slapstick of myself on the same paragraph 10 times.
Anyway, as far as ‘fuzzy headphones’, what is that? I used Arctis 9 headphones, are they considered fuzzy? Or is fuzzy a physical quality? Could I achieve the fuzziness by simply wearing a hat with an attached pocket scarf to cover them?

Sorry if this is obvious, I’ve just thoroughly confused myself

I think Koz meant over-ear closed-shell headphones, which have a padded cup which stops the sound leaking from the headphone to the microphone, which creates a feedback loop.

Ah ha! So my Arctis 9s are likely fine then because they have the cups. I’m fairly sure they’re sound tight so long as I don’t turn them all the way up to LinkinPark mode

Ear pads flexible and gooshy enough so your listening sounds stays in your ear and doesn’t leak anywhere else.

Hard shell earphones can let sound leak out.
