Almost always, but not always, the image of the voice-over contain a small blip (see image) a few microseconds after I activate the microphone by clicking ‘record’. I hear nothing but I don’t remove the blip it affects the later use of AutoDuck, making a minimal but audible duck in the main audio.
If I activate record and say nothing the blip (sometimes) is present. I assume it is caused by the mic activating. The mic is Bluetooth connected head set.
It is easily removed but is a nuisance. How might I stop it.
You’re not activating a microphone. You’re activating a radio transmission interface service. If you’re on a laptop, I bet that doesn’t happen if you temporarily switch to the laptop built-in microphone.
That and Bluetooth systems don’t have the best fidelity. I don’t think a Bluetooth microphone is the best choice for production performances.
That blip comes from the Bluetooth mic activating. To fix it, try using a wired mic, add a short silent lead-in before speaking, or enable noise gate/latency settings in your recording software.
