For 4 or 5 years I’ve been using iTunes. Up to this point it has worked well and I’d recommend it to anyone. But, I now want some more abilities in a music handling software. What do you suggest for such a program? Isn’t there one called File Monkey or some such thing? Your suggestions and advice are greatly appreciated.

As a music player? Audacity is an audio editor and although it can play audio, it’s not designed as an audio player. You can use Windows Media Player. I use Winamp, but it’s basically non-supported since AOL dumped it. Media Monkey might be what you were thinking of. foobar2000 is popular among people who like to customize. VLC is another option.
