I’m need to convert m4a to mp3 and need to add avformat.dll to Audacity’s library. RATHER Audacity wants me to locate and add that specific file to the FFmpeg library. My version is 3.7.3.
The latest avformat file is avformat-59.dll in the FFMPEG for Audacity folder, which is different.
Maybe something’s wrong with the file or maybe it’s not really M4A?
Can you export another file as M4A and then re-open that file?
Audacity DOES require it’s own special version of FFmpeg (and it’s not the latest).
If you download and run FFmpeg_5.0.0_for_Audacity_on_Windows_x86_64.exe it should get installed to the FFmpeg For Audacity folder and you should be good-to-go.
