Adding an intro 'click'

I play the drums in my spare time and need to be able to add an intro click to a track, to allow me to count in to when the drums start so that I can play along to the track. Is there an idiot proof way to import a track from say Spotify then add maybe 8 beats before the track starts? Hope that makes sense

No.

You could create a new drum track below the imported track (Tracks > Add New > Mono Track; Generate…). Create twice as many beats as you will need - you can delete the extras later.

Now move the original imported track to the right until the beats line up: Audio Clips - Audacity Manual
