Adding a bass track to MP3 track with PJB Bighead Pro

Hi,
I hope that someone can help me with this because I think I tried everything…
I have an MP3 file that I removed the bass track from using Moises.
I loaded this file to Audacity as an audio track.
Now I want to record my own bass track.
I am using a PJB Bighead Pro HA-2.
PJB is connected to my laptop with USM, and is defined in Audacity as the “Recording Device”. The Bass is connected to the PJB as an input.
The playback device is the laptop’s speakers.
The problem is, that when I start recording, I hear the MP3 track playing through the laptop speakers, but I can’t hear the bass.
If I connect earphones to the PJB, I hear the bass, but I don’t hear the MP3 track because the earphone isolate it.
Is there a way to hear both the MP3 track and the bass track on the same playback device while recording? When I try to have the PJB setup as both recording and playback device, it doesn’t let me record.
Thanks!

Ok, chatGPT helped me, so this is the solution:

  1. PJB connected to Laptop with a USB cable, after I installed the driver from here: P: HA-2 | Phil Jones Bass
  2. PL between Bass and PJB input.
  3. MP3 Background track loaded to Audacity.
  4. Earphones connected to the earphone input on PJB and this is how I hear both bass and background track while I record.
  5. PJB aux connected to laptop earphones input with 3.5mm cable (two males).
  6. Audacity audio setup: PJB is the recoding device, Laptop speakers is the playback device.
