Add more than one track at a time

It would be so helpful to be able to add multiple tracks at once.

Can select a group of files and drag’n’drop them into Audacity in one go.

Yes, for importing files. But that’s not what I need when I’m editing a long track that needs to be separated into multiple tracks.

“split new” creates a copy of the selected audio on a new track, and deletes (silences) the original selection.

This is fixed in audacity 4
