That’s actual double-tracking: the melody is not exactly the same in the two parts.
The free version of Grallion2 plugin does an interesting doubling effect if you mix the pitch-corrected version with the original. (It’s not going to re-write the melody though).
Automatic Double Tracking is a special effect that usually sounds different from true double tracking. The same with a chorus effect… It doesn’t sound like a real chorus. That doesn’t mean one is better than the other. They are just different.
Meaning I am too lazy and impatience to align 2 vocal tracks together.
Normally multiple vocal tracks are recorded while the singer listens to a backing-track in headphones (or the drummer may be listening to a click-track) so all takes have the same timing. And then if you double-track the little imperfections add to the effect.
There is a plug-in called VocALign. I’ve never tried it. (It looks like it’s not compatible with Audacity.)
OMG , this is doing the trick , So far every real VST Plugin I spent money on , They all managed to have a PRESET that I personally rolled with and did not do a single resetting customizing ,
I AM CAPTAIN CRUISE CONTROL
C4 Vocal and Music Compressor
REEL ADT Abbey Road For Voice Dubbing
GREG Wells Voice Centric , for that Reverb like touch mainly on the vocals ,
REDD EQ Abbey Road for Vocals and Music ,
I always used some type of FREE REVERB for the Music but I think I honestly could disown that and use the GREGG WELLS on that too. Why I am not doing that who knows
I’d like to try the Waves ADT in Audacity, but having trouble installing it, and have been looking for instructions online, without success… Any quick tips? Thanks.
