please help ,
i tried to record an mp3 file …and when i wanted to start recording there is this always this error
-9999 un anticipated host error
i tried to check transport and audio settings but it doesnt work
please if anyone has an idea …thanks so much

i tried to record with my headset… 2 times ok an than this -9999 unanticipated host error

I ask that because 9999 is the code for “I can’t find my microphone.”

Does your headset go straight into the computer, or through sharing such as a USB Hub?

It’s common to think a USB connection is just the same as a plain wired connection, only neater and fewer wires. It’s not. USB does time share where it shuttles work back and forth one at a time. In the case of a headset, it also has to share between Left Headphone, Right Headphone, and Microphone.

Audacity isn’t really excited about this and if it looks for microphone sound at the exact instant that the USB system is doing something else, you may get the Host Error.

Is this a laptop? I bet the laptop internal microphone doesn’t have this problem.
