So this morning I went to mix a track that I finished recording last night. Just wanted to tweak it with fresh ears and realized that upon playback after tweaking my drums did not hold the EQ setting. I have to open up effects and click the EQ and I see that my settings did not stick. This has not been an issue before however, I can’t export the track and listen to it because it won’t hold those EQ settings. Anybody else experiencing affects adjustment dropouts?
You updated during a recording task which was not finished? This is like «Russian Roulette» - in any program, not just Audacity.
But unless you tell us what version of Audacity you have and running on what platform / version, nobody will be able to give you a good advice…
The project wasn’t open. I opened up audacity to go to mix and it said there was an update so I ran the update. After that I opened the project to begin mixing and noticed that. I’m running it on Windows 11. Version 3.7.7
I did not say it was open - but it was not finished. It is good advice to finish with the same version - you never know what the programmers thought (or forgot to think)…
Have you enabled all export modules (formats) in the settings dialog?
All but one of them were unable. When I have time I’ll go back and see if enabling that one made a difference. My problem is is I’m not that knowledgeable about recording this way. I’ve owned several recording studios but the programs we used in the past seemed easier and that was years ago. I’m used to sitting behind a mixing console with a bunch of outboard gear to be routed in the patch Bays so this is the new experience
