2 Major letdowns for version 3.6.4

I just updated to 3.6.4 and even though I can ‘Add’ a plugin folder, I can’t stop it scanning the default locations such as C:\program files\cakewalk\vstplugins or C:\program files\steinberg\vst and when the scan cannot find these locations it throws an error “plugin location not found” or “plugin not found at location” and the only option that’s presented is to ‘Quit Audacity’.

The 2nd let down is that Audacity is NOT friendly to 3rd party VST’s, such as Addictive drums/keys, well, in fact this is a list of all the VST’s that the scan rejected and disabled, there are a few that I have purchased and some are freeware, and yes these VST’s are 64 bit to match Audacity being 64 bit:

Audacity does not support VSTi (instruments). This has always been the case, and has not changed. I’ve seen suggestions that muse group intend to add support for VST instruments eventually, but (a) that is not likely any time soon, (b) when it does happen it will be announced with a loud fanfare as it will be a very significant change to Audacity.

Great, thanks for the info, I’ll not hold my breath though lol
