Hi all at Audacity. I am a composer and song writer. And I want to say thank you very much for Audacity 3.2.1 I have been looking for a decent .wav editor
that won’t cost me a arm and a leg or preferably free . Similar to Steinberg Wavelab, ivosight Soundop and Acon Acoustica! And I have found it, All I can say is ‘WOW’ Thank you for all your hard work for this audio editor. Regard’s, Joseph. (josephobeirnemusic.bandcamp.com) (josephobeirne@soundcloud.com)
Audacity does lack a multi-band-compressor, but you can get one of those for free,
e.g. the free version of KSHMR essentials kick plugin …
I personally use ReaComp and other amazing Fx by Cockos which are totally free! (reaplugs)
I use Cockos Reaper multitrack digital audio workstation which has these plugins installed, but you can download them for free at www.cockos.com/reaper
I use Audacity for enchantment’s and final editing of my recorded ‘Master!’
ReaComp is a very good compressor, but it’s only single band:
you’d need multiple instances of it, each set differently, to create multi-band compression.
Whereas KSHMR free is a 4-band compressor, simply controlled via one “pressure” knob.
( “comp” knob is single-band compression ).
If you want a radio/CD/cinematic sound, multi-band compression is a must.
Hi Trebor, I will give KSHMR compressor a try! Thanks, regards, Joseph
