Audacity 3.1.2
Windows 10 Home
I am brand new to Audacity and am trying to learn.
Using a Blumway cassette to MP3 converter, I converted some music and stored the files on a flash drive. I inserted the flash drive into my computer and tried to open a file in Audacity to edit it but received an error message as follows, “Error Importing. Audacity did not recognize the type of file ‘F:\TAPEMP3\FV0001L.mp3’. Try installing FFmpeg. For uncompressed files, also try File>Import>Raw Data”
I have not yet installed FFmpeg but I did try to import raw data which did not provide anything usable.
I found a link in the Forum to check the format of the file. The report says the format is MPEG Audio, version 1, layer 3, dual mono.
Am I doing something wrong? Can someone please help me?
