Specific miilisecond help

Hello. I used to know how to do this many many years ago, but not sure how to do it anymore.
For example, I am trying to isolate a particular frame of a track I am editing…a particular millisecond actually so I can copy and paste a VERY specific part of a song. I want to do this while the exact moment I move to with arrow keys is actually playing that millisecond of audio. It’s a stutter, really. It allows me to isolate the exact moment before a vocal comes in. Does that make sense? I cannot figure out how to make the audio stutter like that. Any help would be great.

You can add a label while the audio is playing: “Ctrl + M” then “Enter”

I doubt that you reactions are fast enough to get the exact millisecond, but probably close enough that you can stop, zoom in, and find the exact moment visually.

thanks for the reply, but I want to HEAR what I am doing, not just see. It’s a bit hard to explain, but I want to hear where the cursor is in the track not just see the wave length

“Scrubbing”? https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/scrubbing_and_seeking.html
