Find music in audio book file

Hi Guys,

I’m trying to split an audio book into it’s chapters. The audio book is split into four separate files. There no verbal indicators but there does seem to be a brief bit of music that is played just before the beginning of what appears to be each chapter. Is there a way to find these musical snippets so that I can split the files at these points.

Thanks

The waveform of music generally looks different from the waveform for speech. Speech has a distinctive pattern of sound and silences that correspond to words. If you adjust the zoom level, the difference should be easy to see when scrolling through the track. See here how to zoom: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/zooming.html

Audacity’s Spectrogram view is worth a look.
