Why Are New Tracks Always Added to the End? You Should be Able to Add Them After the Selected Track

As yet, there’s not much in the way of examples / tutorials, but I thought this idea of moving the bottom track up to just below the current track was an interesting challenge, so I’ve written a plug-in.

This plug-in requires Audacity 2.3.2 or later.
I’ve only tested this plug-in on Linux but it “should” work on Windows and Mac as well as Linux (provided that Audacity is new enough).

When installed, the plug-in appears in the “Tools” menu.

Steve you are truly incredible (not to mention extremely generous for volunteering your time to help complete Internet strangers)! Thank you so much, your Nyquist code worked exactly as promised.

Now if I can just figure out how to map both that script and the other one you helped me write (Export of Track Lengths - #11 by steve) to keyboard short-cuts, so I don’t have to go Menu => Tools => Nyquist Prompt => Load => Select Appropriate File => OK every time I want to switch between them, I’ll truly be in heaven!
