Waves DeBreath

As this is a “shell” or bundle" plugin I don’t think you should move the constituent DLL’s, so put “DeBreath.dll” back in C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\Plug-Ins V9\DeBreath.bundle\Contents\Win32.

I tried that “DeBreath V9.2.0” trial on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. It installed the 32-bit WaveShell-VST 9.6.dll into C:\Program Files (x86)\VSTPlugIns then I copied the WaveShell-VST 9.6.dll to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steinberg\VSTPlugins which is one of the locations Audacity searches for VST Plug-ins.

For some reason I am not sure of, Audacity finally ended up seeing the waveshell in Plug-In Manager in both C:\Program Files (x86)\VSTPlugIns as well as C:\Program Files (x86)\Steinberg\VSTPlugins, but DeBreath was and remained enabled in “Audacity 2.1.2 RC2 (for testing)” from http://www.fosshub.com/Audacity.html.

In 2.1.1 deBreath does not have an interface and crashes for me. So I would use 2.1.2 RC2, and then upgrade to 2.1.2 when it is released, which should be fairly soon.

Depending on the breaths, you may be able to use built-in effects or free plugins rather than pay a lot of money to Waves. See https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/removing-breaths/39029/1
