Oh, and just to be clear, my involvement with this has to do with preventing shoddy, inferior, misguided, or outright non-existent engineering. You will note that both the pre-run alpha software and the finished release software have a method of reversing the coding back to clear speech. It’s not magic. Single-Sideband, Suppressed-Carrier is a well understood engineering technique. Ask any amateur radio operator.
Where you put the sidebands (ultrasonic pitch) is defined in the Lowery documents.
As I posted, my next adventure is to capture the work with a microphone and prove that the headphones are-indeed delivering the material to the user.
After that, I dust off my hands and go make coffee. It’s up to “AudioExperiments” and anybody else who wants to mess with it.
Are you game? Do you need any affirmations? Do you smoke?
There’s a fair warning for you, too. If you get this to work, you will suddenly be one of the forum heroes and invited to describe, in detail and great length, how you did it.
I have never smoked. And I’m trying to get some things sorted out so I can verify which one works and which one doesn’t. I’ll post in this forum, whichever one is effective.
And the failures. A review of the failures may point us to upgrades or changes to the generator software.
Also notes on Affirmation Duration and Author would be welcome. Your age if you’re willing to share that.
Do you listen to audiobooks and is there anybody whose voice you particularly like? I have all or almost all Sarah Vowell’s audiobooks. Her voice and presentation are almost the exact opposite of theatrical presentation or announcing.
And without giving too much away, a sample of the sound. Select and File > Export > Export-Selected 5 to 10 seconds of the work and post it on the forum. Click the Bar and Arrow icon.
