Which operating system and which version of Audacity?

I’m willing to update or change either. I just left them as they were because they were doing so well for me with the two track recording on my quad capture, but now that I’m moving up in track count… Yeah…

Try setting “Host” to “WASAPI” in the Device Toolbar. Then check to see what recording devices are available (in the Device Toolbar). You are looking to see if the device drivers provide a multi-channel option.
It did provide a “multi channel”, but only up to stereo…
There is a post here where a guy got his Tascam1800 (basically the same as what I’ve got) to run, but he had to download ASIO support or something…
