It works perfectly with macOS 14.8.3 (Sonoma) and Firefox 146.0.1 - what Firefox version are you using?
If you really need a newer macOS version but cannot install it due to Apple’s limitations, you could install it using OCLP. I am running Sonoma on an iMac from 2015, maximum OS according to Apple is Monterey.
Thanks for your comments. I am not currently on the MAC, so I can’t give you the exact build, but it just updated yesterday with the latest version. . .whatever that is. I suspect it is something with the Audacity Forum Venue, that doesn’t like my older MAC OS.
I have purposely stopped at Mojave, as it is the last Build that left power in the hands of the User. I don’t appreciate APPLE’s disregard of its faithful Customers. . .and I have’t bought anything from APPLE for years. . .I buy used from former customers. They get the $, Apple doesn’t.
I tried this and got to step 10 - I have triple checked the file and it says if you have simply mistyped the file name or the .aup3 file name extension, that’s why you are getting the unable to open database file, but I have triply checked, and its right every time so any other reasons why this won’t be working here?
Can you provide a bit more detail please? Which version of Audacity are you using? What is your operating system and version. When you refer to step 10, do you mean running the audacity project tools? Lastly, how big is your broken project file?
Are you game for letting me try to fix it? No guarantees, of course. If you are, you could either upload it to Google Drive and share the link to it, if you have an account or I will send a private message with details of another method.
Hey folks - need some help here - we’re at step 9 and we’re getting the error message: “files is not a database” - we think this might be because the file we had was the “.aup3-wal” file instead of just “.aup3”
When we tried editing the command line to include “.aup3-wal” it said “unable to open database file” and then we changed file to an “.aup3” and it gave the “not a database” error
We don’t have an original “.aup3” as far as we can tell - are we screwed? Big thanks for any support
If you have renamed the -wal file over the aup3 file then, yes, you are screwed. Unless you made a backup somewhere.
Also, I would recommend not reopening closed threads.
Hey, at least the person did some due diligence and went looking for an answer. So many people just expect answers to be served up for them on a platter.
