Whatever app you have used to create that file has inserted some non-printing data (hex FF FE) into the file before the first digit.
The file must be plain ASCII text.
Also, the data should be the sample values only (not the time index values).

I take your second point.
In terms of the first concern - I used excel. What would you recommend I do to fix that problem?
Please could you send me a document that you have created that will successfully import? I can then just replace your data with my numbers and see if that works.

I rarely use anything from Apple, so I don’t know what’s available. Perhaps “TextEdit”.

Thanks for sending that across. It works. But it just gives a digital noise, not an actual sound. Will everything I import sound like that, or can I generate actual ‘music’ by inputting a bunch of numbers?
