Hello, “Unlikely,”
Your application is precisely my application – narrations!
I have developed the automatic cleanup too, though I wasn’t quite ready to put it on the New Plug-Ins board just yet. But you can get the experimental code and see the discussion here: https://forum.audacityteam.org/t/automatic-removal-of-mouth-smacks-again/31897/1
I find there are mouth noises it successfully cleans up even inside words, not just during silences; and not just high frequency clicks but also low-frequency bumps that one’s lips sometimes make when closing, and some less-low frequency rattles inside of “s” sounds where the desirable part of the signal is actually in higher frequencies.
As I discovered with the help of others in that thread, there are certain defects I can detect but do not repair well – such as bad editing cuts or media defects, which are very abrupt discontinuities. But what I can repair well are certain really recorded but undesirable sounds, just like mouth clicks.
I shall look at your examples and comment later.
