What model of Macintosh are you using?
First, you should upgrade to the latest Audacity here.
Second, have you given Audacity permission to use the “microphone”? See this post.
Third, that device does not appear to have a built-in phone pre-amp. What turntable are you using? Do you know if it has a built-in phono pre-amp?
