You showed an image of Audacity running, so you could open it then.
Even if you trash your 2.0.6 installation and install 2.1.2, you should still (before running 2.1.2), delete the audacity.cfg settings file as described above.

So is the crashing or freezing happening when recording, and if so what exactly are you recording using exactly what equipment? Makes and model numbers are good.
