I have the latest version of Audacity. And I’m editing some audio that I recorded on my ZoomH1 and Lapel Microphone, but in certain parts of the audio file I notice various “pips” and “Spikes” that I need removing and cleaning up.
If you want to automatically remove, (i.e. silence), them try Pop Mute plug-in.
If attenuation to the same volume as the loudest speech is sufficient Audacity’s built-in limiter will do that.
Manually pasting in room-tone over each spike would produce the most seamless result,
but you’d have to edit each one individually, whereas Limiter & Pop-Mute attenuate all the spikes in one fell swoop.
