I am having the same issue as well. I had no problems until 3 days ago when I did the upgrade and I have had to fix 2 other problems I also didn’t have before. It’s almost impossible to do any editing with this happening.
Are there blue waves on the timeline during the two seconds? You may need to magnify the beginning segment. Is the cursor moving and there are no waves? Is it playing the waves silently? Does the cursor freeze and then catch up?

No. There are no blue lines even if I zoom way in.
hazelwood… is this an addon same as the thread you run earlier yesterday ----“Beginning of recording is cut off at playback”…

Did you try the simple test I suggested yesterday with creating a small recording and see if delays or gap at start…??
