Naming projects for export

Post by rj7500 » Wed Mar 07, 2018 9:44 pm

Hi folks
Just curious.......why does Audacity not allow certain symbols when creating a title for a project. Symbols like * { ( & : are not permitted in project titles when exporting.

As always thanks in advance for your input.

And that's if you're sticking in the Windows universe.

If you have to transfer files universally between multiple different computer types and ages, the list gets smaller: Upper, Lower, Numbers, -Dash- and _Underscore_.

The slash marks in particular can cause very serious problems.

Today is not 3/8/18. It's 2018-03-08.

I wrote this for a different poster.

This is full-on obsessive mode for creating a show.
