When answering please bear in mind that although computer literate, I have owned 18 computers since my first Commodore in 1977, I am 70 and my short time memory disappeared down a cape brandy bottle ages ago
I am making ring tones for my cellphone and need to save the file to an MP3 file and have it loop when saved.
I can use loop for a single instance under "Transport/Loop play" but is there any way I can save the altered file to have it play in a continuous loop?
I am using Audacity from the repository for Ubuntu 9.04

Whether or not you can make the sound play repeatedly in your phone will depend entirely on whether your phone can do that.
If you want a short sample to play several times, you can use the "Repeat" effect to make a longer (repeated) track.
