I'm using a USB Microphone (the one that comes with Rock Band), and I'm attempting to record my voice over an instrumental. Now, keep in mind, I have done this before on my laptop without any issues.
It's picking up as my recording device in Preferences -> Audio I/O, but when I press record, the track no longer plays. That is to say, that when I press record, the music will not play, so I have no beat. I'm not sure what the issue is, and I've tried it over a couple of different tracks now. Please help if possible.
(Track is Stereo, 44100 mHZ, device is set at 1 channel, 44100. I don't know why this is an issue because it has always recorded before, without me touching any settings.)
Error in recording??

No, I should've mentioned...
This is the same microphone I've used before. I haven't changed anything or touched any settings, but now when I press record, the track doesn't play anymore.

Something may have changed in the background to "help you out." Do you have Windows set to Auto Update? Then Windows is constantly changing back there.
Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O
Is there is a setting for "Play track while recording" and is it checked?
My USB microphone will not record unless I have my Project Preferences set to 44100, 16-bit Mono and it took me a good long time to figure that out. Most computer analog microphone inputs will give you a stereo track even though the microphone itself is mono. The computer puts the same thing on left and right. Not USB.
