I tried to search for this but ram is interpreted as memory rather than file extension and I couldn't find an answer.
I have Audacity 2.1.3 on Windows 7.
I have some .ram files that I would like to convert into mp3. I am not sure whether Audacity can do this. Is there a way that I haven't been able to find?
Thank you.

Re: converting .ram files to mp3
The ".ram" file extension was used by "RealNetworks" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RealNetworks) for "Real Audio Metadata".
These files were small text files used by websites to link to Real Audio or Real Video (.ra, or .rm or .rv) files. The .ram files did not contain any actual audio data, so cannot be converted to an audio format. For more information, see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RealAudio#Streaming_audio.

Re: converting .ram / ivr files to mp3
Thank you.
I see there is an ivr file associated with each ram file - I guess the ivr file has the audio and video. Is there a way to extract the audio from the ivr file and convert it to mp3?
Thank you.

".ivr" a a proprietary format that can only be opened with RealPlayer 11 or later.
