Hi
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to remove or simply reduce some backing vocals from an audio track but leave the backing music. For example, could I remove or hide the "Hare Krishna - Hallelujah" parts of George Harrison's My Sweet Lord but keep the backing music track. I know there are demos of My Sweet Lord around that don't have the "Hare Krishna - Hallelujah" bits but those versions aren't as good as the released vesion.
If it is possible, can you tell me how to achieve it.
Thanks in anticipation.
George

Sometimes it is possible, but often not. It depends on the audio.GeorgeCB wrote:Can anyone tell me if it is possible to remove or simply reduce some backing vocals from an audio track but leave the backing music.

I would guess that for that example the answer would be no. If memory serves me correctly, the "Hare Krishna - Hallelujah" parts are sung by a chorus, with a wide stereo spread, behind the main vocal, which for a computer is indistinguishable from the rest of the backing.GeorgeCB wrote:For example, could I remove or hide the "Hare Krishna - Hallelujah" parts of George Harrison's My Sweet Lord but keep the backing music track.

Hi Steve
What a pity - I was hoping that might be possible. Never mind!
