Error Opening Project...

Post by chall1216 » Wed Jun 28, 2017 5:59 am

Hi all,
I am using Audacity 2.1.1 on Windows 10. I tried to open a my project (weeks of work... ) and received this message:
"Error Opening Project. Error Reference to Invalid Character number at Line 14827."
A bit concerned I just lost a lot of work. Next time I will save a back up AUP file in another location....
Any advice out there? I've attached the file... Thank You.
Best,
Chris

The current Audacity version is 2.1.3 http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows.

Audacity on Windows doesn't support emoji in track names or metadata. I removed the problem from both channels of the "Night Train" track, so try it now (attached).

Thank you very much!

The project opens again.

Also, happy to work with Audacity 2.1.3. Looks like a distortion effect was put in.
Best,
Chris
