Recorded in Stereo but can't hear the track clearly

Hi,

Need some help with an audio recording i did. I set the recording to be on Stereo Mixer, but the audio that came out sounds like it was recorded on Mic by mistake with the result that the conversation is clear as i am speaking, but very faintly heard on the recording when the other person is speaking. Is there any way to "boost" the sound of the other person talking. I am not even sure if this recorded in stereo, and if not how do i convert the mp3 to stereo?

Would appreciate any assistance.
