Problems with Recording in Stereo

Post by grungegirl80 » Wed Apr 15, 2009 5:43 am

Hello,

This is my first time posting here....I downloaded the Stable version first and noticed the first few days not having any problems. The first few times I used it I noticed is was only recording on only one track in Mono. I am trying to record from a 4-track studio tape recorder connected to my computer.... The first few times ,although in Mono, sounds really good.
Today I tried recording again but noticed there has been a change. When I hit Record, it's no longer just one track but two,and now it says it's in Stereo. At first I thought "That's even better"...until I heard the playback. The track keeps skipping (when I hear my songs there's like a static sound that interrupts), unlike the versions I recorded in Mono.
How can I get it back to just recording in Mono????? Why was it in Mono at first and all of a sudden it's Stereo???
Is there a way to just record in Mono??? When I set the track to Mono and hit Record, it just creates another Stereo track and does'nt record on the track I selected at all.

I just like to be able to record my music without any weird noise interruptions.

"Edit menu > Preferences > Audio I/O"
set the number of channels to 1 (mono).
