cant record bass guitar
I am a new user and although I could record my lead guitar I have not been able to record my bass guitar.I have my bass connected to a virtual preamp as I don't own a real amp. When connected to the preamp the bass sounds fine but as I record it and play it back again there is no sound , only a low hum can be heard. What might be the problem??Any solutions friends?I am using AUDACITY 2.1.3 IN WINDOWS 8.1 PRO installed via .exe application.
Re: cant record bass guitar
Are you seeing anything on the Audacity meters? Have you selected the correct Recording Device/input that you're physically plugged into?but as I record it and play it back again there is no sound
The bass should work exactly like the guitar, so I'll bet if you unplug the bass and connect the guitar, it's not working right now either...I am a new user and although I could record my lead guitar I have not been able to record my bass guitar.
What's a virtual preamp? Is it a USB guitar interface?I have my bass connected to a virtual preamp as I don't own a real amp.
Is the sound coming from the computer or from the "virtual preamp"?When connected to the preamp the bass sounds fine
recording bass
I am facing a problem recording my bass guitar in Audacity 2.1.3 , win 8.1. I play bass through a virtual preamp like studio devil and as it is, it sounds fine.It sounds fine even when I open my Audacity interface but when I record the bass line and play it back no sound is recorded in fact. What might be the problem? Are there any other ways to record my Washburn 5 string bass with active pickups??Kindly help,I will be much obliged.

Please do not post the same question twice.
